Aftermath

Aftermath

This was an experiment in Substance Painter's new anchor point editing. I wanted to show the innards of a Lightsaber after a hard battle! 3D model here

Heirloom Beans

Heirloom Beans

I challenged myself to a 24-hour "from scratch" render based on a reference image.  Here is the result.

Robot (Looking Glass contest)

Robot (Looking Glass contest)

An animation created for a Sketchfab contest. See the “Video” page for the full animation.

Grape Tray

Grape Tray

A sequel of sorts to my Heirloom Beans. This took a little longer to correctly get the right displacement map created for the tray. I also tried to make a more intimate setting for the art. (Again, based off a picture my creative mother took.)

GDC Beerstein

GDC Beerstein

This was created for the 2018 Sketchfab Game Developer’s Conference contest. I may have gone a little…overboard with detail.

Inset is the side angle of the ‘stein, various system controllers including a Nintendo Switch, and a tiny monitor resting on top (showing my measly Steam Library).

Solana Beach Station

Solana Beach Station

I was trying to render every aspect of one of my favorite Amtrak Stations. There aren’t really that many maps, since I clumped most of the smaller objects onto a single sheet.

Lamp

Lamp

My living room table and all the weird stuff that’s on it. Created and rendered in a week.

Water Dagger

Water Dagger

I absolutely LOVE the ease of 3DS Max's water materials.  I absolutely DESPISED how much guesswork I had to do for the proper D.O.F.

Harpoon

Harpoon

Another fun one.  This was a test of speed and detail based on a murky reference photo.

Music Box

Music Box

A test of Substance Painter's baking vs. 3DS Max.  The stencil was made with an editable spline.

Speduardo EZE

Speduardo EZE

A gun I modeled off of the Walther PPK.  I wanted to work, quickly normal mapping text on hard surfaces, and ended up with a sell-able asset in the Unreal store!

Craigslist Posting

Craigslist Posting

The power of Paint Generators!

The title is a joke I shared with my wife about this looking good enough to put on Craigslist to see if there were any takers.

Ironically, I'm proudest of my Dragon's Lair-esque decal on the side and D.A.R.T. acronym.

Diner

Diner

Diner  One of my first scenes in Blender.  I really enjoyed the Freestyle outline renderer.

Attack the Block

Attack the Block

I was experimenting with Subsurface Scattering in Mental Ray.  This lead to the current scene, an homage to both A.T.B. and the vinyl figures of A Large Evil Corporation.
